So I was running a few days ago as a warm up to my workout. For some reason I decided to run farther than usual (which isn’t very far anyway). In running a little extra I had a great realization that can probably apply to any area of life.As I was running, I wanted to take a break and walk for a bit. I decided to think about this choice while I continued to run. I asked myself exactly what part of my body I would be resting if I slowed and walked for a bit.

I decided that my legs weren’t that tired, they didn’t need rest. I then thought about my lungs and figured out that I wasn’t getting cramps and my breathing was regular, I wasn’t gasping for breathe. I then felt inside to my circulatory system and I could feel that it was working well, but wasn’t overly stressed.

What conclusion did I reach? If I stopped and took a break, all I would be resting was my will. So I kept running.

On a side note, a great song to keep running to is Keep the Car Running on the new Arcade Fire Album.
